Travelling with children: Fun travel destinations, tested by real families!
Most travel outside of Bahrain would inevitably involve a flight - or often multiple flights. When booking your flights, obviously think about the price, but also think about the number of changes that you may need to make, and waiting times between flights, to reach your final destination. Taking a direct flight to your final destination is undoubtedly the easiest option when you have children with you - weigh up the convenience of this versus any cost savings there may be on other routes. Other things to think are about include:
♦If you have to transfer from flight to flight at an airport, then consider the amount of waiting time between flights. You need to make sure that there is enough time to transit between flights (How big is the airport? Will you need to move between terminals? How long will it realistically take?).
♦Equally, if you have a long wait between flights, then what facilities are there at the airport to keep your family fed and entertained? What time of the day will you be waiting around? Do you need to arrange an over night stay in a hotel?
♦Also consider whether the flights are day or night flights, and which may be preferable.
Travelling is always tiring, especially for little ones, so make sure that you have planned your schedule sensibly with them in mind.
