PLAY is the brainchild of local Bahraini Sama Yateem, a mother herself and a licensed educator. Ms. Yateem was frustrated with the lack of indoor play areas that encourage creative play and set about to design her own center based on impressions she had gathered from various children’s museums and play centers in the US. “Studies show that play serves an important role in the emotional development of children so it is crucial that children are given the opportunity to express themselves in different ways,” Ms. Yateem explains. At a chance meeting on a play date with her two kids, Sama Yateem met Jann Flusche whom she later enlisted as her Business Manager. “Jann and I were on exactly the same page from day one and her support has been instrumental in getting the project up and rolling.” Together, the two mothers spent many hours researching various play facilities and brainstorming ideas to bring PLAY to life.
